Dear Sunnyside School Families,

Students have a busy week ahead! It will start with the kick-off of our Read-A-Thon to encourage reading through to the end of Spring Break. Classes will also be visiting the Book Fair and preparing for the next Bottle Drive. Please see the Upcoming Dates section below for details. Conference Booking is Live!

During conferences, students speak about their progress from their own perspective, highlighting what they have been working on and what they are proud of. Teachers support students in preparing for these conversations so they feel confident sharing their learning journey and discussing the goals they have been focusing on over the past several months.

  • Thursday, March 19: 4:30–8:00 PM
  • Friday, March 20: 9:00 AM–1:30 PM

Booking will remain open until 8:00 AM on Thursday, March 19. Please contact the school office if you require assistance with booking.

We recognize that these conferences may conflict with the celebration of Eid. If there are scheduling challenges, please reach out to your child's teacher directly.

Please also note that there will be no school for students on Friday, March 20, which leads directly into Spring Break.

Enrolment Planning 2026–2027

We are continuing to monitor our enrolment for the upcoming school year. If you know that your child will not be attending Sunnyside School next year, please inform the school office as soon as possible. While we receive enrolment projections each year, actual numbers often differ from projected figures, and keeping accurate information helps us make thoughtful and effective organizational decisions. Teachers may also ask families about next year's plans during conferences.

Please note that Kindergarten registration for next year is also open. If you know families planning for their child to attend Kindergarten at Sunnyside but who have not yet registered, we encourage them not to wait. Early registration helps us plan for class sizes well in advance of the new school year.

School Council – March 12

Thank you to the families who attended our recent School Council meeting. Information was shared regarding school planning, including the School Development Plan, school budget, and school fees. These discussions help ensure families understand how our planning and resources align with supporting student learning and school priorities. We appreciate the continued involvement of our School Council and families in supporting Sunnyside School.
