Dear Sunnyside School Families

Teachers are looking forward to student learning conferences this week. They have been moved to online due to the CUPE strike and will occur Thursday March 20 in the evening and Friday March 21 in the morning via Microsoft Teams.

This is an important time to connect with your child’s teacher about successes and next steps.

To sign up for a conference

  • Sign in to MyCBE
  • Select Book and Manage Meeting Times, Book a Conference
  • Select your child, school, teacher and time and ‘Book Conference’
  • You will receive a reminder and link to log in

See below a link for how to sign up for a conference if you require support.

Technical Support

Important to Note:

  • Please be ready for your scheduled time as each family is limited to a 15 minute time slot. If you sign in early, please wait in the queue until the teacher admits you
  • If you are experiencing any technology issues or something comes up, please email the teacher
  • If you are unable to access Microsoft Teams during your scheduled time, please provide your child’s teacher with a phone number to contact instead
  • If you would like to utilize interpreter services, please email ahead of time with your home language so the teacher can arrange for an interpreter through CBE Online Service Provider (Language Line).

Grade 5,6 Bottle Drive

The Grade 5/6 classes will be hosting a Bottle Drive on April 3 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM! This is a fantastic opportunity to declutter your recycling and support two meaningful causes.

A trailer from the bottle depot will be parked at the school to collect your bottles during the event. We kindly ask that you drop off any bottles you'd like to donate between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM on April 3rd.

The funds raised will be split equally between the following two initiatives:

  • Funding a year-end celebration at Calaway Park for our Grade 5/6 students
  • Making a donation to two local charities – the Calgary Food Bank and Inn from the Cold, both of which support families in need in our community.

We deeply appreciate any bottles you can contribute to help us reach our goal!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. We can't wait to see you at the bottle drive!

Warm regards,

Ms. Muir
