Dear Sunnyside School Families,

Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who worked to make the Casino Fundraiser a resounding success! The event, which took place on December 12 and 13, was the culmination of months of planning and collaboration. A special shout-out to our incredible volunteers—your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support were truly the backbone of this event. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and care you invested to ensure everything ran smoothly. Our community and students are fortunate to have you, and your efforts never go unnoticed.

A Week of Festivities

The final week before the holidays and winter break is often one of excitement for our students—and we hope we, as adults, can keep up with their enthusiasm! To keep the holiday spirit alive, this entire week will be a "Dress Festive" event. What does that look like? It’s up to you! For some, it might mean pajamas, red or green clothing, blue and white attire, sequins, glitter, tinsel, and more. Let your creativity shine!

Wednesday will feature "Festive and Fancy" attire, along with a fun lunch. If you’ve ordered a fun lunch but your child will be absent, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher to make alternative arrangements. Options may include:

  • Sending your order home with a sibling or friend
  • Storing the order in the fridge for next-day pickup
  • Donating your order to a child who did not receive a fun lunch

Additionally, please note that the January fun lunch date has been changed from January 15 to January 29 to accommodate the Grade 5/6 field trip to City Hall. Be sure to update your calendars!

Caroling

Caroling will take place daily at 11:00 AM from Monday to Thursday, and at 9:00 AM on Friday. Each carol session will last approximately 15-20 minutes, and we invite you to join us on this joyful occasion. While chairs will not be provided, they can be arranged if needed—please coordinate directly with your child’s classroom teacher for any special accommodations.

Warmest regards,
Ms. Muir
