Dear Sunnyside School Families, 

We have one week before Spring Break! This week provides a natural opportunity to focus on new beginnings and the arrival of spring. With the spring equinox, we experience the shift toward longer days and more light — a reminder of growth, renewal, and fresh starts. 

In our classrooms, this is a time to reflect on the learning and progress students have made so far this year while also looking ahead to the goals we want to set for the final months of school. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to notice the changes happening in nature, talk about balance and renewal, and encourage students to think about new ideas, habits, or learning goals they would like to begin. 

On Thursday, students will be learning about the importance of the spring equinox and the sense of renewal the season brings. To bring this idea to life, classes will participate in a short schoolyard clean-up. For those who may not be aware, our caretaker completes a daily sweep of the school grounds prior to student and staff arrival. We are grateful for her care in helping keep our school safe and our shared space clean. 

As we approach the break, we also look forward to student-involved conferences, which provide an opportunity for students to celebrate their efforts, share their learning, and reflect on their growth. If you have not yet booked a conference, please do so by following the directions below or by calling Sonjia in the office at 403-777-6390 if you need support. 

How to Book a School Conference 

  1. Log in to MyCBE. If you do not yet have an account, please see our Parent-Teacher Conference page. 
  2. Click on the My School Conferences icon. 
  3. Select a time slot that works for you. (Please ensure pop-up windows are allowed.) 
  4. In the pop-up window, select your child (or enter their name). The parent/guardian name will be pre-filled but can be changed if needed. 

Due to teachers participating in conferences, there will be no school for students on Friday.
