Dear Sunnyside School Families,

Our Carnival date has changed as a result of a scheduling issue from Les Bûcherons' Lumberjack. Our new date is this Tuesday! You are welcome to join us for the final performance from 11-12:00.

Also, please note that I will be sending two emails today. You will receive an email with questions that have been asked regarding changes to 2025-26 bell times via the survey link I shared and their responses.

Psychologist, Dr. Caroline Buzanko, Presentation for Parents

The School Council is in the process of securing Dr. Caroline Buzanko to present to Sunnyside School families on June 12! Dr. Buzanko is a leading psychologist specializing in ADHD, anxiety, and building resilience in children and teens. Known for her practical, research-backed strategies and dynamic speaking style, she empowers parents to better support their children's emotional and academic success.

Stay tuned for more details — you won’t want to miss this valuable opportunity!

As you may have heard, our Grade 5/6 students are hard at work fundraising with a goal of raising $4,000! Half of the funds will support an exciting year-end celebration at Calaway Park, while the other half will be donated to two important charities — Inn from the Cold and the Calgary Food Bank — organizations thoughtfully selected by our students.

Grade 5,6 Students are Excited to Announce Two Upcoming Fundraising Events

Bottle Drive – May 29

We invite you to support our Bottle Drive by bringing in your milk cartons, pop cans, bottles, and other refundables. Collection bins will be available in the morning, after school, and earlier in the month if needed. Our goal is to raise over $1,000 during this event!
Remember — 50% of the proceeds will help fund the Calaway Park trip, and the other 50% will be donated to charity.

Sunnyside Variety Night – May 15 at 6:00 PM

Join us in the school gym for an evening of entertainment as our Grade 5/6 students showcase their amazing talents!
They’re selling tickets for $5 each, with proceeds split equally between the Calaway Park celebration and the selected charities. We hope to see you there for a fun and meaningful evening!
