Upcoming Dates

Dear Sunnyside School Families,

As we head into the final week of the school year, our hallways are filled with excitement, reflection, and pride. Students have spent the year growing as readers, writers, mathematicians, artists, athletes, and caring members of our community. Whether they are sharing learning projects, participating in year-end celebrations, or simply enjoying time with classmates, it is wonderful to see the confidence and friendships they have built. Thank you to our families for partnering with us throughout the year and helping create such a positive learning environment.

Report Cards

As classes wrap up, we encourage families to take time to celebrate their child's accomplishments, both big and small. Learning extends far beyond report cards, and we are proud of the perseverance, kindness, curiosity, and resilience our students demonstrate every day. Online report cards will be available through MyCBE on June 25, providing an opportunity to reflect on growth and set goals for the future. We hope families enjoy looking back on all that has been achieved this year.

Report cards are available until July 31, 2026 through your MyCBE account. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information.  After July 31, 2026, report cards will no longer be available to access in MyCBE. Please download and save your documents as needed.

Keeping Our School Safe

The safety of our students and staff is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate your partnership in maintaining a secure learning environment. All CBE schools operate as closed campuses, which means that all parents, family members, volunteers, and visitors are required to enter through the main entrance and sign in at the office before proceeding anywhere in the building. Visitors will be provided with a visitor badge to wear while on school property, helping students recognize that you are a safe adult who has checked in with the school. Individuals who are on school grounds without legitimate school business and who have not signed in may be asked to leave and may be subject to trespassing regulations. If you are dropping off an item for your child or picking them up during the school day, our office staff will be happy to assist. If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up your child, please let both your child and the school know in advance whenever possible. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, welcoming, and caring learning environment for everyone.

Lost and Found – Please Take a Look

As we approach the end of the school year, our Lost and Found collection continues to grow. We have a wide variety of items including jackets, water bottles, lunch kits, and indoor shoes. We encourage families to take a few minutes to look through the photos of the Lost and Found items that will be shared with this newsletter. Any unclaimed items will be donated or recycled at the end of the school year, so please take the opportunity to reclaim anything that belongs to your child.

  • 🍎 Tuesday, June 23 – Dress Like a Teacher Day
  • 🎩 Wednesday, June 24 – Crazy Hat Day

These themed days are a great way to celebrate the year together, show school spirit, and enjoy some lighthearted fun with classmates.

Boot Rack Trophy Winner

We recognize classrooms for their collective responsibility in keeping our school organized and respectful through our Boot Rack Challenge. This year’s Boot Rack Trophy winner demonstrated consistent care in keeping their outdoor footwear neatly stored, helping to maintain safe and tidy shared spaces for everyone. Congratulations to the winning class: Ms. Lang Grade 5,6 for showing such great responsibility and school pride—it is a wonderful example of how small daily habits contribute to a positive school community. They will be rewarded with a pizza party on Tuesday, June 23.
