We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our students for the 2024 - 2025 school year! Please read the information below carefully so you can prepare your children for the first few days of school.

Classroom Assignments and School Tours |

Teachers will send a welcome email to families on Tuesday, August 27. This email will include information about first day procedures. We know that many children and parents may want to see the classroom before the first day of school. We are inviting all students to an optional visit on Wednesday, August 28 between11:00AM to 12:00PM. *We are sorry but we will not be able to accommodate requests for different times because of our meeting and preparation schedule. |

Where should my child go on the first day? | Teachers will be outside to greet families between 8:30 and 8:40AM: Kindergarten children will meet at the front of the school. Grades 1 to 6 students will meet on the compound (south side). Look for a sign with your teacher's name. |
What does my child need to bring? | *All students need a backpack, indoor running shoes that can stay at school, a nut-free snack and lunch for grades 1 to 6 and a nut-free snack for kindergarten. Students can also being a water bottle. *Students do not need to bring school supplies. Supplies will be provided by the school and parents will be charged a fee later in the fall. *Please leave toys and valuables at home. *Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather! |
Can my child stay at school for lunch? | Yes, grade 1 to 6 students can stay for lunch. Please see this information for how to register your child for lunch supervision: Lunch Supervision |
What if my child will not be attending on the first day (or any other day)? | Please call the attendance line at (403) 777-6390, extension 1 or email Sunnyside@cbe.ab.ca. Be sure to tell us your child's first and last name, teacher's name and the reason they will be away from school. |
