Changing Spring Weather:
Please help your child to be ready for any type of weather. Conditions change quickly and we love to spend a lot of time outside! Now that temperatures are warming up, a hat and sunscreen are great ideas. Please note that staff cannot apply sunscreen or bug spray on students so it is probably best to put it on your child in the morning if you think they will need it. Always pack a light jacket just in case. We know that students like to wear sandals, flipflops or slides. Please make sure that they can run safely in the shoes they wear to school.
Bike, Scooter, Skateboard and Rollerblade Safety
If your child is wheeling to school, please make sure to teach them to cross roads safely and make sure that drivers can see them. We have noticed that some children have been riding their bikes down the alleys in the neighbourhood; please make sure they know how to be safe.
Did you know that it is the law in Alberta for children under 18 years old to wear helmets when they ride bicycles? Here is some information: Bike Safety
Thanks to our partnership with EverActive School we have some bike helmets available for families who need them. Email Mrs. Schmitt at kaschmitt@cbe.ab.ca if you would like one.
Lock Lending Library
Our school has some secure bike locks that children can borrow. If you would like to borrow one, ask the adult that is opening the south door in the morning.
